New York (USA), Aug 07 (ANI): Pakistan's efforts to disrupt the celebrations of the Ram Temple foundation stone laying ceremony in Ayodhya miserably failed on the streets of New York. A handful of Pakistani protestors had gathered at the iconic Times Square on August 05. Anti-India demonstrations were organised under the leadership of Himmat Singh, a pro-Khalistani Sikh, to counter the massive celebrations conducted by the Indian Diaspora. Around 20-25 people were gathered out of which only 2-3 were from Sikh community while the others were of Pakistani origin. They raised pro-Khalistan slogans with an aim to disrupt the celebrations of Indian community. On the other side, pro-India demonstrators were in large numbers and they chanted slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' while singing and dancing on the beats of drums. Thousands of Indian community members living in New York and nearby areas gathered at Times Square for celebration. Speaking to the media, an Indian community member said, "I wish to invite them (protestors) to join and celebrate with us and have some sweets. We are brothers and sisters." "I think they are misguided and they should understand that Ram Temple in Ayodhya is being constructed after the Supreme Court order. We believe in the rule of justice," he added. A digital billboard of Ram Temple was also seen at Times Square. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Ram Temple in UP's Ayodhya on August 05 where dignitaries from various fields were present.
